The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Ministries of Economics of those states eligible for funding explicitly subsidize investment projects with start-up funding with the aim of stimulating economic growth and employment.
The GA funding – supporting measures within the framework of the joint task programme of the federal government and states (GA-Förderung - Fördermöglichkeiten im Rahmen der Gemeinschaftsaufgabe Bund-Länder) – applies to Ludwigslust-Parchim. Industry and trade projects which strengthen the competitiveness and adaptability of the economy and by means of which new jobs are created or present jobs secured can be funded with the budgetary means of the joint task programme.
The European Union has prolonged this funding for the New Federal States till 2020. Companies can benefit from these provisions by using the investment subsidies to reduce investment risks and gain additional financial scope. The rate of funding depends on the size of the applying company and the number of new jobs created in connection with the investment.
But there are also other funding instruments which apply to Ludwigslust-Parchim. Companies can make use of guarantees and participations, loan funding or subsidies in various sectors. Special attention is given to the promotion of research, development and innovation. The subsidies granted are meant to foster orientation towards new technologies and processes and strengthen companies’ positions.
